Why the Body Matters In My Work
For a long time, I lived in a constant state of push. I was always moving and striving towards something. So afraid to slow down in case I fell behind or missed opportunities.
When something felt uncomfortable, I numbed it with food. When uncertainty crept in, I distracted myself with social media scrolling. When my body signalled no, I overrode it out of fear of rejection or missing out.
There was a version of me who believed safety would come once I became who I’d been told to want to be— thinner, more polished, highly achieving, confident and self-assured. The body I had — with its softness, sensitivity, and depth — had been quietly shamed in the past. And the wounds ran deep.
In January 2021, right on my nodal return, life cracked me open. I now refer to it as a cosmic intervention. A bicycle accident left me bedbound for months and stripped me of my usual momentum and coping strategies. I could no longer ignore, push through or outrun my discomfort. I couldn’t think my way out of this one. The only choice I had was to slow down.
For the first time, I had to really listen to my body. I had to learn to trust it again. I had to let it heal in its own time and pace.
That’s when Human Design found me. For most of my life, I’d been walking down a beaten path, chasing the conventional version of success. This sudden pause and the new system gave me the biggest permission slip to start paving my own path through this life — a choice I never thought I had.
In that process, what I discovered was a different kind of intelligence. I reconnected with a body that had been speaking to me all along. I had simply chosen to override what it was telling me. And I was finally ready to fully trust in it.
I didn’t arrive here
through clarity or confidence.
I arrived here through disconnection — from myself, from my body, from what I actually wanted.
I learned — slowly and imperfectly — that self-trust isn’t something you achieve once and keep forever. It’s a practice. A continual tending to what the body is communicating — the subtle cues that are easy to ignore, and the not-so-subtle cues that can feel overwhelming.
The body has become my reference point and breath my anchor.
And that’s foundational to my work.
What Slowing Down Can Teach Us About Human Design
It’s the quiet knowing that your worth doesn’t need proving.
It’s being able to slow down without guilt. It’s saying “I don’t know” — when you don’t — instead of trying to conjure up an answer. It’s hearing your body’s no and honouring it — even when the world rewards pushing through.
That’s why slowness, nervous system awareness, and lived experience sit at the centre of body-led Human Design.
Human Design doesn’t ask us to become someone new.
It invites us to remember what the body has always known — and learning how to trust it again. But trust emerges through safety.
Safety isn’t found in chasing someone else’s ideal. It’s cultivated from within.
Here’s why I do this work
I know what it’s like to numb out or override every internal signal; to live mostly in your head because you don’t quite trust what your body is saying; to regularly talk yourself out of your no because it doesn’t feel safe in your body; and to crave rest, yet feel guilty when you do slow down.
I also know the freedom that comes from finally stopping the pushing and forcing through; the hoping that a system, method, or a coach will fix your life for you; or being so obsessed with getting it “right” instead of staying present when things get uncomfortable.
Learning to trust yourself, to listen to your body, to honour your rhythms and root into your truth — it’s not a clear-cut or linear journey. There are no guarantees. It’s slow and spiralic. And it’s profoundly life-giving. And I’m so excited your path has led you here.
Training & Lineage
My work is informed by years of self-study, professional training, and lived inquiry — weaving together Human Design, nervous system awareness, somatic practices, Conscious Connected breathwork, and body-led approaches to self-trust.
Along the way, I’ve learned from Human Design source material, as well as contemporary teachers and thought leaders including James Alexander, Teresa Brenneman, Kelsey Rose Tortorice, and The Human Design Collective.
I’ve also spent a lot of time with and learning from various other mentors and guides: Britten LaRue, Polyvagal Institute, Alchemy of Breath, Steph Magenta, Travis Eliot, and many others who have shaped how I understand embodiment, self-trust, and healing.
I hold deep gratitude for each of them — and for the ways their work continues to inform, challenge, and refine my own.
This work evolves as I do.

studying photography, then completing a Master’s in Heritage — drawn to how meaning lives not just in facts, but in context, memory, and what’s carried through time. That love for lived history still shapes how I see Human Design: not as a system to memorise, but as something revealed through real lives, places, and stories.

passing through places and feeling the rhythm of local lives. I’m far less interested in ticking destinations off a list than in soaking in the essence of a place.

especially houseplants, forests, mountains and the quiet intelligence of things that grow at their own pace. And what grounds me is the sky. The clouds, the stars, and the vastness beyond us — a reminder of perspective, humility, and mystery.

a practice that has taught me how stillness can be both challenging and restorative at the same time. Staying with sensation, discomfort, and quiet without needing to change it has been one of the most profound teachers in my own relationship with my body.
